After 3 and a half years of work, our partner AVNIR Engineering is pleased to announce the successful completion of the SPHERE project, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at their Saint-Cloud premises, alongside their partners ASB Aerospatiale Batteries and SilMach, as well as the DGA – Directorate General of Armaments.
This project, supported by AID RAPID subsidy, has resulted in the development of a thermal battery system to restart helicopter turbines in flight in the event of engine damage (ASB works). Several innovative acceleration measurement systems have also been developed, making this system suitable for use on both military and civil helicopters (SilMach works). AVNIR Engineering led the project management and solved the challenges of integrating the various systems on board the helicopter.
